Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 17, 2026

This policy applies to the application that links to it and is developed by Roman Sisik. It explains what information the app accesses, where it is stored, when it is shared with third parties, and the choices available to you.

Summary

The app does not require an account and does not include developer-operated analytics, crash reporting, or tracking services. I do not directly collect or maintain personal information through the app.

The app must communicate with third-party services to provide its core features. In particular, it obtains station information from Radio Browser, connects to radio stations and image hosts selected by you, uses Google Play for optional purchases, and can communicate with casting devices on your local network. Those providers may receive technical information that is normally included in an internet or local-network connection.

Information stored on your device

The app stores information locally so that it remains fast and remembers your choices. Depending on the features you use, this may include:

This information is not uploaded to a server operated by me. You can remove individual history items and schedules where the app provides that option. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app removes its private local database and settings, subject to Android backup and restore behavior described below.

Recordings and exported files

If you record a station, the app saves the resulting audio file in the device's shared Music storage so it can be accessed by you and other media applications. On Android 9, the app may request storage permission for this purpose. Recordings remain on the device until you delete them; clearing app data or uninstalling the app may not delete files saved in shared storage.

If you export song history, the exported CSV file is saved or shared only to the destination you select through Android. Once a recording or export is available to another app, storage provider, or person, that recipient's privacy practices apply.

Network connections and third parties

Radio Browser directory

The app downloads and searches the public station directory provided by Radio Browser. Searches can send the entered station name and selected country, state, genre, or language filters to the Radio Browser API. As with any internet request, Radio Browser and its infrastructure may receive your IP address, request time, app user-agent, and related connection information. Radio Browser's own privacy practices apply to that processing.

Radio stations, streams, artwork, and websites

When you play a station, the app connects directly to the station's stream provider. It may also load station artwork from the image URL listed by the station directory. The operators of those services may receive your IP address, request headers, connection times, and streaming activity, and may process information according to their own policies. Some community stations use unencrypted HTTP; traffic to such stations or artwork hosts is not protected by HTTPS while in transit.

If you choose to open a station website or search for a song using an external service such as YouTube or Spotify, the app passes the relevant page or search request to the selected app or browser. Your use of that service is governed by its privacy policy.

Google Play purchases

The app offers optional in-app purchases or subscriptions through Google Play Billing. Google processes the transaction and related purchase information under the Google Privacy Policy. The app receives purchase status and product information needed to provide paid features, but I do not receive or store your full payment-card details.

Google Cast and local-network devices

If you use casting, Android, Google Play services, and the selected Google Cast receiver may process device, network, media, and playback information needed to discover devices and control playback. Google Cast receivers generally connect directly to the selected station stream, so the station provider can also receive connection information associated with the receiver's network.

The Google Cast SDK automatically sends Google limited, anonymized information about Cast discovery, sessions, app and SDK configuration, device characteristics, and general playback performance. Google uses this information to measure Cast usage, diagnose defects, and improve Cast performance. This analytics data is encrypted in transit and does not include station titles, artists, or stream URLs. The Cast SDK retains logs for a limited period before aggregation, and neither you nor I can disable this collection or request deletion through the app.

For UPnP/DLNA casting, the app uses multicast discovery on your local network. It receives device identifiers, names, model information, addresses, service descriptions, and capabilities advertised by compatible renderers. When you select a renderer, the app sends playback commands and station metadata to it. For processed-audio casting, the app temporarily serves the live decoded audio over your local network to the selected renderer. This discovery and streaming information is used for the active casting feature and is not sent to a server operated by me.

Permissions and device access

The app may request or use the following Android permissions and capabilities:

You can manage applicable permissions in Android Settings. Disabling a permission may prevent the related feature from working.

Android backup and device transfer

Android backup is enabled for the app. Depending on your device, Android version, account settings, and backup provider, Android may back up or transfer the app's private local database and settings to help restore them on this or another device. That processing is controlled by Android and your backup provider, not by a server operated by me. You can manage device backup in Android Settings.

Shared recordings and exported files are managed separately by Android and by any storage or backup service you choose.

Analytics and crash reporting

The current version does not include developer-operated analytics or crash reporting. Apart from the Google Cast SDK analytics described above, the app does not send usage analytics or crash reports to a service operated by me. Standard Android, Google Play, device-manufacturer, radio-provider, and network-provider processing may still occur independently under their respective terms and settings.

Data retention and deletion

I do not operate a user-account or cloud database for the app and therefore do not have app-account data to retrieve or delete on your behalf.

Local app data remains until you delete it in the app, clear the app's storage, or uninstall it, subject to Android backup restoration. Recordings, CSV exports, and other files placed in shared storage remain until you delete them from the device or the service where you chose to store or share them. Third parties described above determine their own retention and deletion practices.

Children's privacy

The app is not designed to collect personal information from children and does not provide an account or a way to submit personal information directly to me through the app. If you believe a child has provided personal information to me outside the app, contact me so I can review and delete it where applicable.

Security

I use the data-minimizing design described in this policy, but no device, network connection, or storage method is completely secure. Radio streams and artwork served over plain HTTP are unencrypted, and information you export, share, or expose to devices on your local network is subject to the security of those destinations and networks.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy when the app's features, third-party services, or legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision.
